On 10th December Qenos advised that we were moving the SCAL-2 plant back to a shutdown status to reduce the flaring impact on our neighbours while works proceeded to remove water from the refrigerated section of the SCAL-2 plant.
The water removal process is nearing completion and we anticipate the SCAL-2 plant start-up re-commencing on Monday 21st December and being completed by 24th December.
Start-up operations that have the highest flaring rates will be scheduled to begin in the morning to minimise the evening and night time flaring and its impact on our neighbours
Regrettably the overall time and associated flaring required for this SCAL-2 start-up is significantly more than Qenos had planned and we apologise for the increased disruption to our neighbours and communities.
Refer to the attachment for more detail about the start-up schedule and flare management.
